Song Shall Be Our Measure
Jessica was commissioned by SEDA Land to compose and perform a new piece of music responding to the themes of their event at Go Falkland 2024, which centred around multiple land uses for a prosperous Scotland. The resulting work was titled ‘Song Shall Be Our Measure’, for two violins, cello and birdsong, and reflected on indicator species and their presence within thriving communities. Jessica was joined by violinists Aaron McGregor and Kirsty Orton for the first performance, with Amy Hawes looking after the recorded birdsong.
